STMA-Reading entered its first Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament recently – returning with lessons learned, competition fight experience… and a couple of gold medals.
Our members did themselves and the club proud at the Pro Grappling BJJ Reading Open Tournament at the Rivermead on Sunday, April 28th.
STMA-Reading owner Dan Eden said: “Massive congratulations to Serkan, Josh, Ishan, Seamus and Sammy who all performed well. Sammy and Josh won Gold, Serkan won bronze and Seamus showed great willingness by stepping up to the adults, due to their being no-one in his category.
“Overall it was a fantastic performance, with us showing our strength and skills against much more established BJJ clubs. We’ll look be looking to build on this with future BJJ tournaments soon.
“A big thank you too to Matteo Frascone for all his work preparing and cornering the fighters. And a shout out to STMA-Wokingham, whose fighters also performed extremely well.”
